Generic Sinequan Doxepin Capsule to Treat Depression and Anxiety Part 1
Drug Description
Generic Sinequan® (doxepin hydrochloride) belongs to the class of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. It is a white crystalline solid solvable in water, lower alcohols and chloroform. It holds inactive ingredients such as Blue 1, Red 3, Red 40, Yellow 10, and other inert ingredients); magnesium stearate; starch and sodium lauryl sulfate.
Drug Indications
Generic Generic Sinequan is a drug to treat depression and anxiety. It alleviates tension, elevate mood, improve sleep, increase energy, and usually alleviate the feelings of guilt, fear, and worry. It is successful in treating people whose depression and/or anxiety is psychological, related to alcoholism, or a result of psychotic depressive disorders (severe mental illness).
Drug Contraindications
Generic Sinequan is contraindicated in patients having hypersensitivity to tricyclic antidepressants; glaucoma; concomitant use with MAOI; risk of urinary retention; and using it during acute recovery phase after MI.
Dosage Information
The usual starting daily dose is 75 mg. Dosage may consequently be raised or decreased at suitable intervals and based on individual response. The maximum dose range should range from 75 mg/day to 150 mg/day.
In severe cases, higher doses may be recommended which can be further increased to 300 mg/day if essential.
